Free Compare PDF
Compare two PDF files page by page and see exactly which pages and lines differ.
Document A
No file selected
Document B
No file selected
Both files are compared entirely in your browser and never uploaded.
How to compare two PDFs
- Add the first PDF as Document A.
- Add the second PDF as Document B.
- Select Compare documents.
- Review the page-by-page result: matching pages, differing pages, and a line-level breakdown of what changed.
How the comparison works
Each PDF's selectable text is extracted page by page, then compared line by line using a difference algorithm, similar to the way source-code diff tools work. Added, removed, and changed lines are marked clearly for each differing page.
Your files stay private
Both PDFs are read and compared entirely in your browser. Neither file is uploaded to Inqita or any server.
Common use cases
- Check what changed between two contract drafts
- Confirm a reprinted document matches the original
- Spot accidental edits between two versions of a report

Is this tool free?
Yes. It is completely free, with no signup and no limits.
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. Both files are read and compared locally in your browser.
What happens if the two PDFs have different page counts?
The tool compares pages up to the shorter document's length and clearly flags any extra pages in the longer one.
Does this compare images or only text?
Only the selectable text layer is compared. Visual-only differences in images, scans, or formatting are not detected.
Can I download the comparison result?
Yes. A plain-text comparison report can be downloaded after comparing.
