How to edit a PDF

  1. Add one PDF from your device.
  2. If the PDF has real fillable fields, they appear automatically — type into them like a normal form.
  3. Use Add text, Add image, or Cover area to place new content anywhere on any page.
  4. Use Find to search the document and jump straight to the page you need.
  5. Download the finished PDF.

What "editing" means in this tool

This tool does not rewrite text that's already baked into a PDF's original page content — no browser-based tool can do that reliably while preserving the exact original font. Instead, to change something already printed on the page, cover it with a matching-color box and type the new text on top. Real fillable form fields, when a PDF has them, are read and written directly and don't need covering.

Why use this private PDF editor?

Your PDF is processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and every field, text box, image, and cover you add is only ever visible on your own device until you download the result.

Common use cases

  • Fill in a job application or insurance form before submitting it
  • Add a name, date, or note to an existing document
  • Cover an old detail and type a correction before sharing a filled form

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. Form detection, editing, and the final PDF are all produced locally in your browser.

Can this tool edit text that's already printed in my PDF?

Not by rewriting it directly — that isn't reliably possible in any browser-based tool without the original font data. Instead, cover the existing text with a matching-color box and type the new text on top, which is how most online PDF editors handle this.

Can I fill in a blank application or insurance form?

Yes. If the PDF has real fillable form fields, they're detected automatically and shown as an actual form. If it's a scanned or flat form with no real fields, use Add text to place your answers directly on the blank lines.

Can I add an image, like a logo or photo?

Yes. Use Add image to place any JPG or PNG image anywhere on the page, and resize it as needed.

Does search let me replace text automatically?

No. Find only locates and jumps to matching text so you can see where to make your edit — it doesn't perform a find-and-replace on the page content.

Are all form field types supported?

Text fields and checkboxes are supported. Dropdowns, radio buttons, and signature fields aren't editable yet in this tool.

Can I edit a password-protected PDF?

Not currently. Remove the password before using the tool.
