How to resize PDF pages

  1. Add a PDF file.
  2. Choose a target page size (A4, Letter, Legal, or A3).
  3. Choose whether to scale to fit with padding, or stretch to fill exactly.
  4. Resize and download.

How this works

Each page's original content is embedded as a single reusable object and redrawn at the new page size — either scaled proportionally and centered with padding, or stretched to fill the new page exactly, depending on your choice.

How this is different from Crop PDF

Cropping removes content at the edges of a page. Resizing scales or pads the entire page canvas to a different paper size without removing any content.

Common use cases

  • Convert a PDF sized for one paper standard (A4) to another (US Letter) before printing
  • Fit oddly-sized pages onto a standard paper size
  • Standardize page dimensions across a document before sharing

Frequently asked questions

Is this PDF page resizer free?

Yes. It is completely free, with no signup and no watermark.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to Inqita or stored.

What's the difference between the two fit modes?

"Scale to fit" keeps the original proportions and adds padding so nothing is stretched. "Stretch to fill" fills the new page exactly, which can distort the original proportions.

Will this crop any content?

No. Unlike Crop PDF, this tool never removes content — it only scales or pads the page canvas.

Can I resize a password-protected PDF?

Not currently. Remove the password before using the tool.
