Select the correct content type
Use URL for a web address, WiFi for network credentials, Contact for a vCard, or Text for a short message. The QR Code Generator formats those values locally in the browser. Check spelling and test the destination first because a static QR code cannot be edited after printing.
Use contrast and quiet space
A dark foreground on a light background is the safest starting point. Avoid similar colors, busy backgrounds, and decorative elements touching the code. The empty margin around the modules is part of reliable detection. SVG is useful when a code must be enlarged for print without softening its edges.
Balance error correction and density
Higher error correction can help when part of a code becomes dirty or damaged, but it also creates a denser symbol. Long text and tracking-heavy URLs add more modules. Prefer a short stable destination and use Medium as a practical default unless the physical use case justifies another level.
Test the real output
Scan the exported PNG or SVG with more than one current phone when possible. For printed material, test a sample at the final size, viewing distance, lighting, and surface curvature. Never encode passwords, private personal information, or secrets unless everyone able to see the code is allowed to read them.
