What this tool can and can't fix
Every automatic fix is deterministic and shown in the preview before you download: renumbering, overlap trimming, minimum-duration extension, BOM removal, and global time shifting. A line that cannot be parsed as a valid cue is never silently dropped — it is excluded from the repaired file and listed in the issue report so you know exactly what was left out and why.

No. Parsing, repair, and the final files are all produced locally in your browser.
What subtitle problems does this fix?
Overlapping cues, timestamps ending at or before their start, non-sequential SRT numbering, a byte-order mark, and optional global time shifting. Empty cues can be removed if you choose to.
Can it fix garbled text from a wrong encoding?
When a file fails to decode as valid UTF-8, this tool offers a Windows-1252 re-decode as an explicit, previewed option — never applied silently, since it's a best-effort fix, not a guarantee.
Can I repair multiple files at once?
Yes. Add several SRT or VTT files and download a ZIP containing every repaired file.
Can I convert between SRT and VTT while repairing?
Yes. Choose to keep each file's original format, or convert every file to SRT or to VTT.
What happens to a subtitle line that can't be parsed?
