How to export a WhatsApp chat
- Export your chat from WhatsApp as a .txt file (without media, or with media if you want to attach files for hashing).
- Paste or upload the .txt file here.
- Search or filter by sender if needed, then review the parsed message count.
- Download the paginated PDF and the CSV hash manifest.
What this tool does and doesn't claim
This organizes an export into a readable, searchable, paginated PDF and computes a SHA-256 hash of the original file and any attached media, so you have a verifiable fingerprint of exactly what was exported. It does not claim legal admissibility, chain-of-custody certification, or notarization — it's an organizing and integrity-hashing tool, not a legal service.
Supported export formats
WhatsApp's export format isn't officially published and varies by platform and locale. This tool supports the common Android and iOS patterns. Any line it can't confidently parse is listed as unparsed in the manifest rather than guessed at or silently dropped.
Common use cases
- Organize an exported WhatsApp chat before sharing it with a lawyer or HR
- Search a long chat export by sender or keyword
- Get a hash-verifiable record of an exported chat file
Frequently asked questions
Is my chat uploaded?
No. Parsing, hashing, and PDF generation all happen locally in your browser.
Does this prove the chat is authentic in court?
No. This tool never claims legal admissibility. It gives you an organized, hash-verifiable export — whether that's sufficient for your purpose is a legal question outside this tool's scope.
Does this embed photos and videos in the PDF?
Not currently. Attached media files are hashed and listed by filename in the manifest, but their content isn't embedded in this version.
What happens to a line it can't parse?
It's listed as unparsed in the manifest rather than guessed at or dropped.
Can I search the chat before exporting?
Yes. Filter by sender or keyword, and the export reflects your current filter.
