How to reverse a video

  1. Choose a video file (up to 15 seconds).
  2. Select Reverse video.
  3. Preview and download the result.

How this works

Your browser captures a series of frames across your video, then plays them back in reverse order onto a canvas and records that as a new video file using your browser's own recording engine — no video is uploaded, and no server-side conversion is involved.

A note on scope

The output has no audio. Reversing audio in sync with reversed video isn't achievable using only native browser APIs, so this tool produces a genuinely reversed, silent video rather than a misleading result with unreversed or missing audio. Clips are limited to 15 seconds to keep frame capture and processing time reasonable.

Common use cases

  • Create a fun backward-motion clip
  • Reverse a short action for a visual effect
  • Play a process backward for a demonstration

Frequently asked questions

Is this video reverser free?

Yes. It is completely free, with no signup and no watermark.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The video is reversed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to Inqita or stored.

Why doesn't the reversed video have sound?

Reversing audio in sync with reversed video motion isn't possible using only native browser APIs, so this tool honestly produces a silent result instead of a misleading one.

Why is there a 15-second limit?

Reversing works by capturing a series of individual frames into memory before replaying them, so longer clips would use a large amount of memory and take a long time to process.

What format is the output?

WebM, a widely supported video format that plays in all current browsers and most media players and apps.
