How to cut a clip for TikTok

  1. Choose a video file.
  2. Set the start and end time in seconds.
  3. Select Create TikTok clip.
  4. Preview and download the result.

How this works

Your browser plays the chosen part of the clip while center-cropping every frame to TikTok's 9:16 vertical frame and drawing it onto a canvas, then records that canvas — combined with the original audio — into a new WebM file. No video is uploaded, and no server-side conversion is involved.

A note on scope

The video is center-cropped (not stretched) to fill the vertical frame, so the sides of a wide shot may be trimmed off. Because recording happens in real time, this takes roughly as long as your chosen clip length. Clips are limited to 60 seconds, and the output is a WebM file, which plays natively in all current browsers and most apps.

Common use cases

  • Cut a clip from a longer video for TikTok
  • Reformat an existing video to fill TikTok's vertical frame
  • Prepare a short vertical clip without a phone app

Frequently asked questions

Is this TikTok video cutter free?

Yes. It is completely free, with no signup and no watermark.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The clip is created entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to Inqita or stored.

Will this stretch my video to fit vertical format?

No. It center-crops the frame to fill the 9:16 shape without distortion, so the far left and right edges of a wide shot may be cut off.

What format is the output?

WebM, a widely supported video format that plays in all current browsers, and can be uploaded to TikTok from most devices.

Is there a length limit?

Yes, clips are limited to 60 seconds to keep processing time and file size reasonable.
