How to crop a video
- Choose a video file.
- Enter the crop position (X, Y) and size (width, height) in pixels — the preview shows exactly what will be kept.
- Select Crop video.
- Preview and download the result.
How this works
Your browser plays the video while drawing only your chosen region of every frame onto a canvas, then records that canvas — combined with the original audio — into a new WebM file using your browser's own recording engine. No video is uploaded, and no server-side conversion is involved.
A note on scope
Because recording happens in real time, cropping takes roughly as long as the video's own length. The output is a WebM file, which plays natively in all current browsers and most modern media players and apps.
Common use cases
- Remove black bars or unwanted edges from a video
- Focus on a specific region of a wide shot
- Crop a video down to a specific pixel size
